The Jordan Valley is of paramount importance in providing food and revenue for the rest of Palestine

Palestinian agriculture has been systematically attacked since 1967

Agriculture along the Jordan River has been destroyed and access to Arab markets completely cut off.

Palestinian agriculture suffers from an imposed shortage of water, fertilizers and infrastructure. Israeli goods, many grown on stolen Palestinian land in the valley, are dumped on Palestinian markets.

Markets for Palestinian agricultural produce in Nablus, Jenin, Jericho, Hebron and Ramallah are systematically cut off by a series of checkpoints. Farmers wishing to access these markets must load their goods onto new vehicles in order to get them out of the valley. Many Palestinian products rot in the fields because it would be too expensive to get them to markets.

Access to markets in 1948 Israel are barred except if products are packaged and sold by Israeli agricultural companies like Carmel-Agrexco. Palestinian farmers in the valley have refused this dirty deal.
